COMMON HELP QUESTIONS

Special Characters:
Special characters have historical roots in many languages. You will find many special characters used throughout ABC’s with Elly. In many cases, enunciation is made on the character, however, it may also designate another meaning or be an entirely new sound. ß, for example, is a German consonant with a double S sound. Listen closely and appreciate these unique language attributes.

Volume:
The volume control in the software is intended to regulate only the music and not the spoken words. If you desire to change the volume of the spoken words, use the master volume control located in your operating software. An icon can usually be located in a system tray. For Windows, this icon is housed in the tray in the lower right side near the clock.

Learning Opportunities:
There are multiple learning opportunities to take advantage of. The first is through the selection of five languages. Your child can choose to learn in their native language before moving into a new language but don’t be concerned if he or she chooses to explore other languages before they are proficient in their first language. Natural learning is occurring through this discovery process. We encourage you to have your child repeat the words aloud. Another learning opportunity can be accessed through the printable activities. These lessons duplicate the learning found on the software in a fun educational environment. You do not need to master a particular theme before moving to the next theme. Don’t be concerned if your child hasn’t mastered the alphabet before moving to Animals and Nature. It is quite natural in this early stage of development to be curious.

Ages:
We recommend the game for ages 3-8 years old. Some younger and older users might find value in the software, however.
